Station Break’s monthy Stern Army Max Match Play tournament
Station Break will be hosting an IFPA max matchplay pinball tournament on Friday, 9/19. Doors open at 7:30pm and the pinball tournament will start at 8pm.
The format will be max match-play. Max match play is a type of head-to-head match play tournament. Instead of playing a predefined number of rounds, a Max match play tournament creates new matches as soon as possible. This means a Max match play tournament can fit in more matches than a head-to-head match play tournament based on rounds. So basically every player will play the same number of matches and tournament players will not face the same opponent repeatedly. Depending on turnout size, we may add a finals component with a few final rounds of match-play finals for the top of the field.
Cost to enter is $20 with all games being on free play. There will be COOL custom trophies to the top 3 players. First place winner also gets a new Stern Pinball translite ($100 value). Outside food and drinks are welcomed. We will provide water and some soft drinks.
