Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: April 23, 2016
This will be an 8 round match-play tournament with the Top 8 qualifiers moving on to the A Division Finals being held in Dallas April 23rd at 1pm.
Each round, players will be placed in groups and play a single four-player game. Players will earn points determined by their finishing position in their group (4,2,1,0). Players will accrue points across the eight rounds.
After 8 rounds of match-play, the top 8 finishers will be placed in the A-division playoffs, and the next 8 finishers in the B-division playoffs. During each round, each group will play 3 randomly chosen games. Scoring will continue (4,2,1,0) for each of the 3 games. After 3 games, the top two players from each group with the most points will advance to the next round. The A and B division Finals will be played on 4 games. Points determine final finishing position.
EXTRA BALLS
If you earn any extra ball(s), you may have ONE FLIP and one flip only at said extra ball. You may allow the extra ball to be passed via a "dead flip" pass, but, once you have pushed a flipper button, you must step away from the game and let your extra ball drain. Players from each group will be responsible for holding one another accountable.
TIE BREAKERS
Ties will be broken by playing a single game on a random machine. Only critical ties will be broken, such as those that determine advancing to playoffs, or the top four finishers of the A & B-division finals.
Tournament Start Time
The tournament will start promptly at 2pm. Players should arrive no sooner than 1pm for warm ups.
POT LUCK
Players are encouraged to bring food, snacks, drinks, treats, and sweets.
AWARDS
Engraved trophies will be awarded for the top 4 finishers in the A-division.
Cash Payouts (1st-50%, 2nd 35%, 3rd 15%), after trophies purchase, A-division only
If we reach the 30 player limit, then cash payouts will be awarded 1st-4th (40%, 30%, 20%, 10%), after trophies purchase, A-division only.
No trophies for B division, just WPPR points.
RULINGS
The tournament director has the final say on all rulings. If a game requires a ruling that the tournament director is directly involved, the ruling will be deferred to an unbiased person to be named at the beginning of the tournament.
LOCATION & RSVP
The location for this tournament is private. If you plan on attending, it is recommended to contact the tournament director via email (moneyokc@yahoo.com) to RSVP and to get the address.
Do to limited space, there is a limit of 30 players, so first come first served. I will keep emails for record should we exceed the 30 cap limit. Should someone who RSVP'd not be able to attend, then I will notify whomever is next up and so on to fill any voids.
Entry fee is $40. Again, nice trophies will be awarded for 1st-4th place A-division only along with cash payouts.
