The monthly tournament will work always like this : qualifications on any Tuesday , Wednesday or Thursday , and they are good ONLY for seeding and NOT necessary to play in finals , so if you don't do the qualification then you will be seeded based on last tournament played at Modern or ultimately by World Ranking.
To play in final just show up.
$19+tax if you come between 5 pm and 7 pm .
$15+tax if you come after 7 pm
Different prices apply for players that did qualifcations ( also people will be allowed to put in scores before 7 pm and all day pass will apply , but again scores are good ONLY for seeding !)
Final start usually at 7:45 . Anyone is free to stay until closing .
The format of the Final is a mixed of Pinburgh (4 games)- Papa (3 games) style Finals : groups of 4 players that play a set of 3 ( or 4) games where winner after each game gets 4pts , 2nd place gets 2 pts , 3rd place 1 point and last 0( 3 players groups will be 4-2-1) .
After 3( or 4) games the top 2 of each group advance and will be regroup , bottom 2 are eliminated . Higher seed gets a choice to pick a set of 3/4 games( sets are already made ! ) or order, next higher seed get choice of order etc etc .
Qualifications standing will matter only for Round 1 , in Round 2 players will be re seeded based on their performance on Round 1 and so on for each following round ( if are any ties then the one that was higher in qualification will be higher seed ! ).
In case of any ties to advance to next round then TD will pick a game randomly or by his/her own choice !
MATCHES ARE BEST GAME SCORE WITH NO EXTRA BALLS that will be plunged without moving/shaking machine .
All machines , were possible will be in tournament mode .
NO EXTRA BALLS , you must plunge and walk away ( good for skill shot of touching flippers buttons before the ball will go in play ) . Tilt trough or play out of order is a loss (or last place ) .
All machines working properly will be used (remind that most of machines are in autoplunge so do not go away during your game ! )
All players will receive IFPA World Pinball Player Ranking (WPPR) points valid for World Ranking , NY State ,Woman and Youth standing .
Rules that are not specifically addressed herein shall be governed by the IFPA with final determination being made by the Tournament Director(s).
