AUTUMN
Qualifying dates:
Wednesday 8 May 2019 - 2 attempts possible.
Tuesday 14 May 2019 - attempts possible.
Thursday 16 May 2019 - ONLY 1 qualifying attempt on this night for the sake of finalising results in a timely manner.

Finals to be held on Saturday, 18 May 2019 (9:30am check in time, 10am finals start). Expected finish time 1pm<>2pm.

WINTER
Qualifying dates:
Wednesday 10 July 2019 - 2 attempts possible.
Tuesday 16 July 2019 - attempts possible.
Thursday 18 July 2019 - ONLY 1 qualifying attempt on this night for the sake of finalising results in a timely manner.

SPRING

Thursday 21 November 2019 - ONLY 1 qualifying attempt on this night for the sake of finalising results in a timely manner.

Finals to be held on Saturday, 23 November 2019 (9:30am check in time, 10am finals start). Expected finish time 1pm<>2pm.

Tournament fee: $20 per qualifying attempt. $10 goes to Timezone for the use of their machines and $10 goes into the SMA kitty to supply trophies and random draw prizes (additional buy-in is by $5 cash direct to the tournament director).

Note that you only need to attend ONE qualifying session to potentially qualify. But, you have the option of multiple attempts to improve your score (only personal best scores on each machine is used in the qualifying calcs).

For an additional buy-in attempt on the first two nights, you MUST finish all your first attempt games by 9:30pm. There will be no buy-ins or new players accepted after this time.


TOURNAMENT FORMAT DETAILS:

QUALIFYING:

Play a single game on every machine available at Timezone Surfers Paradise (approximately 7 pinball machines expected).

Ranked first to last on each machine.

Cumulative score across all machines as per PAPA system (100 for 1st , 90 for 2nd 85 for 3rd, 84 for 4th and so on).

Up to a maximum of 5 qualifying attempts can be made.

FINALS:

Format = 3 strike knockout through Matchplay software comprising of a maximum 50% of qualifiers

A top 16 or top 12 finals will be a “group knockout” format (four player games, both 3rd/4th receive strikes – three player groups only 3rd will receive a strike).

A top 8 finals will be all 2 player games.
