Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: April 14, 2019
For the first time, we will be moving away from a head to head tourney bracket and adopting the very popular matchplay format. 3 points for first, 2 for second, and 1 for third on each game each round (5 rounds are planned). The intention is to use balanced pairings, however, we are still investigating whether Swiss pairings may be better and we reserve the right to use a Swiss pairing matchplay format. You will play two games with the group you are allotted to and then re-allocated to a new group. We plan to do 5 groupings/rounds. The top four will make the playoffs (we reserve the right to increase the number of people who make finals to a higher number should the IFPA require a higher number of people in the final playoff based on the number in the main tournament). Assuming only four people make the final playoffs, the playoffs will be two more four player games with the same scoring to determine placing of the top four and a head to head game for any tie breakers that may be needed.
You may arrive as early as 11:30am if you wish to visit and/or practice. Lunch will be served around noon and matchplay will kick off at 1pm. As a reminder, Romp in the Swamp events are held at a private residence and parking is limited, please try and park effectively and try not to unduly disturb the neighbors.
