Qualifying:
Group Matchplay.

1) Seeding: IFPA.
2) First round pairing: Slaughter.
3) General pairing: Swiss - Players will be paired against players with the same win-loss record. No attempt will be made to pair players against previously unfaced opponents (adjacent pairing is used).
4) Player order: Rotating - Random order for the first game, then rotates player order evenly.
5) Scoring system: IFPA (7/5/3/1) (7/4/1).
6) Arena draws: The tournament machines will be placed in three groups: old, mid and new. In each round players will play one machine from each group.
7) Duration: Six rounds.
8) Matches each round: Three matches.
9) The top 16 ranked qualifiers will proceed to the finals.
10) Tiebreaker: Ties will be broken by the number of first place finishes, then by the number of second place finishes and finally, if necessary, non meaningful ties will be broken by a random event - such as a coin toss. Meaningful ties will be broken by a single game play-off on a machine chosen at random using a list randomiser.

Finals:
Group Elimination.

1) There will be 3 rounds of 3 matches in the finals.
2) In each round scoring will be IFPA (7/5/3/1).
3) The top 16 players will be seeded according to their placements after qualifying.
4) In round 1 of finals, the 16 players will be placed in four player groups as follows: seeds 1,8,10,16....2,7,9,15....3,6,11,14....4,5,12,13.

6) In each round, players will play one machine from each group. The highest seed in each group has the choice of ONE machine for that round, the second seed then has a choice of ONE machine from the two remaining groups and the third seed has the final choice from the remaining group.
7) In each round play order will be rotating - random order for the first match and then rotating.
8) After round 1, the top 2 players in each group proceed to the next round.
9) The same procedure will be used for rounds 2 (8 players) and 3 (4 players).
10) At the end of the third round the player with the highest points score will be declared the SA Masters Champion for 2019.
