Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: November 01, 2019
You may arrive as early as 5:15pm. There will not be any practice games allowed for anyone. You must arrive by 7pm to begin getting entrees in (the TD reserves the right to extend that time to 7:30pm for good cause). Entry fee $5. This also covers the side tournament (which will also be an IFPA sanctioned event). There will be no trophies and no cash prizes.
If you have never played in a tournament at this location you must pre-register by contacting the tournament director or Michael Van Etten (Louisiana IFPA representative at least 72 hours before the tournament). To register you must provide your full name, contact information, and IFPA number. There will be a maximum of 32 players allowed to enter this tournament.
The main tournament will be scored by using the Best Game format of the Matchplay software on a 95% modified decay scoring format. You will have two plays on six machines with all of your games counting to your placement. The top four will then have a playoff for spots 1-4 through knock out format with the lowest score dropping off of a 4 player game, then a 3 player game with the lowest score dropping off, and then the championship game. You can’t play the same game twice in the playoffs. If the IFPA rules require the finals to be more than 4 based on the number of entrants, it will be increased to comply with the IFPA rules, but otherwise it will be 4 players in the playoff.
The side tournament will be on a game kept out of the main tournament. You will have one play on this game, with the top four scores making a playoff. The top four will then play again with the bottom two scores dropping off; then there will be one more game among the top two to determine the winner.
The machines at this location are elite. HEP restores games, Refinery Edition games, Keith Holbrook restores games, limited edition games, etc. Any machine abuse will not be tolerated, and will result in an ejection (we have never had to do this, but reserve the right to do so). High end tournament manners are expected (ie. be nice and be a good sport).
This event is at a law firm. Please park within the lines of the parking area. No alcohol is permitted at this location, no exceptions. We are fortunate they allow us to host pinball tournaments at this location, and we have never had any issues or any drama of any kind at this location. You must come dressed appropriately to be at a law firm, you must wear shoes. Any person who has been convicted of a felony or is currently charged with felony will not be permitted inside the premises.
