The format is Flipper Frenzy!
This is a timed format, so once the tournament starts there is NO new entries.
We will play for 2.5 hours. After this time has elapsed, no more games may be started.
Top 8 go on to a 3 Round Playoff (PAPA style scoring). Machines will be RANDOM but pick order is based on seed. (#1 seed picks position 1st, followed by #2, etc.)
There will be about a 15 min. break between end of Flipper Frenzy and playoffs
Flipper Frenzy explained:
There will be 20-22 pinball machines in the tournament.
X machines chosen from all the available machines in this tournament based on the turnout.
Head to head match play on a machine.
At the start, two players are drawn randomly to play on each available machine and assigned an order.
Player 1 and 2 go head to head, while the remaining players are placed in one central line.
Everyone else is in a line/queue, YOUR PLACE IN LINE IS IMPORTANT, DO NOT FORGET IT.
Once a game has concluded, P1 and P2 report the result to me.
P2 will go to the end of the line. P1 will become P2 on a new game. The front of the line will become P1 on this new game. (Just listen to TD and it will be fine, the software takes care of this.)
Standings determined by highest Win-Loss differential (+/-X).
Example of Win-Loss differential:
10-0 = +10
6-3 = +3
5-5 = 0
0-10 = -10
Tie breaker is most wins. If after this tie-breaker, there is a tie for any position for playoffs (top 4), there will be a ONE BALL playoff on a random machine to break the tie.
IF YOU ARE NOT PRESENT WHEN CALLED YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED A LOSS, FORFEIT YOUR SPOT IN LINE, AND WILL BE PLACED AT THE END OF THE LINE.
You may concede your match at any time. If you concede, inform your opponent and you plunge out the rest of the balls to "reset" the game.
If you are player 2 and are leading on ball 3, you must victory plunge. You cannot play it out at this point.
