Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: January 18, 2020
New this year: BC qualified as a super-state (super-province?) during 2019 so the finals this time are Top 24, instead of Top 16 in previous years. Top 8 seeds get a bye in the first round while 9th to 24th seeds play against each other. This means there are 5 rounds this time instead of 4. Each round is a best-of-7 elimination match. First machine/position choice goes to higher seed, then always loser's choice. This event is free to enter, and there is prize money for each of the Top 24.
Entry to this event is by invite only. No general public or spectators, except for staff, customers and guests of Nitro. After their tournament play is finished, all invited players are welcome to stay and play on available machines.
TGP now 100% due to the extra round.
The only tiebreaker will be to determine 3rd place. 5th-8th finish tied with equal cash prize. Same for 9th-16th and 17th-24th.
Doors open for practice time for all players at 10:00 am.
First round starts at 11:00 am for seeds 9-24 (and alternates).
Second round start time is 1:00 pm for seeds 1-8. (but may start later if first round not yet finished)
