Tournament Overview


Start Date: July 07, 2022
End Date: July 10, 2022

Main Open Event:

The Main event will consist of an open qualifying period beginning at 5PM to 12AM on Thursday, July 7th 2022 running through Friday, 11AM to 2AM, then Saturday from 11AM until 4PM with the semi-finals event beginning promptly at 5PM for the first and second rounds of Matchplay.

The entry fee for the Main Tournament is $45 with games set to $.50/game. Entrants will receive an event T-Shirt and a goody bag (While supplies last).

Registration:
Registration is capped at 120 total participants. Players are encouraged to register early by submitting a 45$ pot fee in advance to PayPal at mike@hangarpinball.com

Qualifying:
The qualifying event will consist of a bank of 16 modern machines and each competitor may play each pinball machine as many times as desired during the qualifying period. Only a player’s single highest score on each machine will be counted with the player’s best scores on 8 different machines counted as a complete entry. That players 8 best games will be compared against all other 8 best games and awarded points accordingly. Players will need to play a minimum of 8 out of the 16 pinball machines to be awarded a score. The open event will be using the “It Never Drains” Software for the Qualifying event which will allow for queueing of games and score tracking.

The rank of the player’s result on each machine will contribute points to their overall entry as follows:
1st place- 100 points
2nd place- 97 points
3rd place- 95 points
4th place- 94 points
5th place- 93 points
6th place- 92 points
All the way down (Best Possible Score = 800 points, for highest score on 8 different machines)

Semi-Finals:
The 1st and 2nd rounds are semi-final battle rounds to find out who gets to compete in the Final event. They begin Saturday evening at 5pm with the final rounds scheduled for Sunday at 10AM.

The Top 24 qualified players will be placed in Division A with the next 24 qualified players placed in Division B. 48 players total will advance from qualifying. Machines will be chosen at random from the same 16 machines available for qualifying.
The semi-finals will be played as a group Matchplay event for both divisions with each round consisting of 3 matches on three different machines with 7-5-3-1 scoring. The Top 16 by point accumulation of each division at the conclusion of 2, 3-game rounds proceed to Div A and Div B Finals on Sunday. Ties will be broken manually in 2, 3 or 4 person groups.

Finals:
Finals begin at 10AM, Sunday, July 10th.
16 players each for Div A and Div B, will square up for Matchplay 4/3 player groups with the highest seed of each group having choice of game position to start round 1. All subsequent matches in each round will be determined in reverse finishing order of the previous match (i.e., last place chooses position first with the game being chosen at random. 3 matches per round per group.

Point System: 7/5/3/1 with highest point total accumulation determining final standings per round. Lowest two scores at the completion of each round will be eliminated.

Prize Pool:
The Division A prize pool will be based on number of participants as a percentage of top 24 players in the form of checks payable to winner, sponsor prizes, and Trophies.
30% of net proceeds will be applied to the Grand Champ, trophy
20% of net proceeds to 2nd place, trophy
10% of net proceeds to 3rd place, trophy
8% of net proceeds for 4th place, trophy
4% for 5th through 8th place.
2% for 9th through 16th place.

Assuming 100 players with a $4,500 pot (Actual pays dependent upon participants): Division A:
1st - $1,350
2nd - $900
3rd - $450
5th - 8th $180 each
9th - 16th $90 each

Division B will be awarded prizes in the form of Cash Prizes, sponsor prizes, and Trophies.
1st - $200, trophy
2nd - $100, trophy
3rd - $50, trophy
4th - $25.00, trophy
