The prize money awarded at the tournament is final. The tournament director’s decisions on rulings are final. You agree to these terms by signing up. You can’t come back after the tournaments are finalized and dispute your finishing position or prize payout. Any discrepancies need to be brought up immediately to the main tournament director, at and during, the tournaments themselves.
Tournament Formats and Rules:
Tournament #1 - 2 hour Flip Frenzy. You will be playing head to head (2-player) matches and we will have a queue of players waiting in line to play a match. As soon as ANY match ends, this will trigger the first person in the queue to go play a match. Rinse and repeat for 2 hours.
When a match ends and after reporting a win using the Matchplay Events software, Player 1 will now become player 2 for the next match against the first player standing in queue. The player coming out of the queue will always be Player 1. Player 2 from the previous match then moves to the back queue, regardless if you win or lose, Player 2 ALWAYS goes to the end of the queue. At the end of each match the winner gets (+1) point and the loser will get (-1) point.
After 2 hours of qualifying the top 4 based on "net wins" will move on to the finals. "Net Wins" is determined by the number of wins minus the number of losses. Tiebreakers will be decided by "most wins", followed by the "fewest losses". If a further tiebreaker is needed, TD will select a solid state game at random to break the tie.
Format Specific Rules:
1. Players may not concede the game prior to the start of ball 3.
2. In the event that a registered player is late at the start of a match, that player will be moved to the end of the queue and will also receive a loss for that match.
Finals: Top 4 will move on to the finals and will play in a Modified PAPA format. Top 4 will cash with 1st place also receiving a trophy. Only ties for prizes will be broken with another game played on an early solid state machine.
