FORMAT: 15 Points Target Matchplay for qualifying. Tiered swiss pairings if more than 40 players. First round random pairing. Each round we will alternate between classics and moderns. Top 12 will advance to the "A" finals, which will be the Amazing Race format.
A? player qualifies for the "A" division finals by reaching or passing a target value of 15 points at which point the player will no longer compete in the qualifying rounds. Match play will continue until all 12 spots have been filled in the "A" division. Once all 12 spots have been filled, the standings will freeze at which point places 13th through 22nd will advance to the "B" finals and places 23rd through 30th will advance to the "C" finals. All final formats will be the amazing race. Each division will have its own bank of games.
Tiebreakers: Any ties for division cutoffs will be decided by a single game playoff on a machine chosen by the TD.
Scoring: 4-player groups (3/2/1/0) and 3-player groups (3/2/1)
Finals Format: Modified Amazing Race format. All players play single player games on the same machine and the lowest score is knocked out.
Game #1: In the order of qualifying, each player will choose their initial starting point for the first game and that order will remain the same throughout the Amazing Race. The current lowest score stays at the machine, safe scores continue onto the next game. until there is one player left who will be determined the overall Race winner. A player cannot advance to the queue of the next game until someone puts up a lower score on their current game.
A? player must play their next game in the order which they have advanced from the previous game.
A?ll players must plunge away any remaining balls once they have passed the current low score on that machine.
I?f during the finals a machine becomes unplayable due to a malfunction, then that game/round is removed from the finals and players will move onto the next game without anyone being eliminated on the affected machine. NOTE - A backup machine may be chosen to take its place by TD discretion.
F?inals Bank of games - There will be a pre-determined order of games for each division.
