Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: March 11, 2023
Hello! Murphy’s on 21 will be hosting The 311 Pinball Exposure for John Miller’s fifty-seventh birthday on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Doors open at 12:00 p.m./noon. Tournament begins at 1:00 p.m. Come expose yourself to a great time and potential new pinball strategies. “Come Original” by joining us in celebrating John’s double digit IFPA number/being a co-founder of St. Louis Area Pinball (SLAP,) while getting WPPR points. Cost to enter the tournament is $10, plus coin drop ($.75/game/player.) I wanted it to be a birthday surprise, but it just isn’t going to get by him. ????
In addition to counting towards open/coed WPPR points, this tournament will also count towards 2023 women’s WPPR points, per the IFPA’s most recent online article. Did you know that John Miller was born on International Women’s Day? Just sayin’…
Format will be six rounds of Match Play qualifying, which means that every player is guaranteed to play at least six games/rounds. One game per group per round will be played. In groups of four players, scoring will be seven points for first, five points for second, three points for third, and one point for fourth. In groups of three players, scoring will be seven points for first, four points for second, and one point for third. After six rounds are completed, total points for all six rounds will be tallied for each player. We hope to take the top half of the players to the playoffs (EX: If there are sixteen players that enter the tournament, the top eight qualifiers after six rounds will go on to the playoffs.)
Entry fees for the tournament will go directly back to the players in the form of cash prizes for overall first, second, and third place finishers. We will have and are working to secure additional attendance prizes/give-aways from various donors, as well! ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED.
Murphy’s on 21 staff will be taking care of your drinking needs. Frozen pizzas, Heimer’s Jerky, and other snacks will also be available. Or, you can order food to be delivered/bring your own food. Murphy’s on 21 and this IFPA-sanctioned event are open to minors who are accompanied by an adult.
If you are interested in playing, you can show up that day, email Valerie Iriarte at vrader3180@gmail.com, message Valerie on Facebook, or respond to this post to register ahead of time. We hope to see you there!!
