Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: June 17, 2023
Hello! On Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., Benton Parkade will be hosting Ballin’ for Keyway: A Fundraiser Event, which will be an open/coed tournament. Format will be six rounds of Match Play qualifying. In each round, players will be placed into groups of three or four, depending upon turn-out. In groups of four, scoring will be seven points for first, five points for second, three points for third, and one point for fourth. In groups of three, scoring will be seven points for first, four points for second, and one point for third. After six rounds are completed, total points for all six rounds will be tallied for each player. We hope to take at least the top eight qualifiers to the finals. ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED.
Cost to enter the tournament is $20 per player, plus coin drop. In the spirit of transparency as to where entry fees will be going, 75% of each entry fee ($15) will be donated directly to Keyway: Center for Diversion and Reentry. 25% of each entry fee ($5) will be going directly back to the players in the form of cash prizes for at least the top three overall finishers. Val will also be paying the $1 IFPA fee for every player who enters the event, so that this money is not taken from the entry fee.
The plan is to have a 50/50 raffle (50% going to the winner and 50% to Keyway,) along with other single raffles for gift baskets and other cool items. You do NOT have to be present to win the raffles, but the winners will be determined before the end of finals. There will also be the typical attendance prizes given out to players. ???? If you would like to make a straight donation and not participate in the raffles or tournament, anyone can send donations to Keyway via Venmo @ValerieIriarte. Everything is appreciated!
What is Keyway: Center for Diversion & Reentry? What does your donation help fund? Your support empowers women, strengthens families, and transforms communities. Keyway advocates for and assists women in the criminal justice system to support their successful transition to family and community. This process is incredibly difficult, and the women Keyway serves face many barriers upon reentry. Your support is vital, as Keyway is a non-profit organization that relies on grants/donations to operate effectively. Your donation helps fund gender-responsive and trauma-informed wraparound services in four areas shown to be most impactful for justice-involved women: housing stability, community reengagement, financial security, and emotional wellness. If you would like to learn more, please visit https://www.facebook.com/keywaystl. Keyway will also have a booth set up at the tournament with Keyway staff available to assist in answering your questions/discussing how Keyway helps transform lives and our community. Thank you for your support!
Café Piazza staff will be taking care of your eating and drinking needs. Doors open, when Café Piazza opens. Benton Parkade and this IFPA-sanctioned event are open to minors who are accompanied by an adult. If you are interested in playing, you can show up that day, email Valerie Iriarte at vrader3180@gmail.com, message Valerie on Facebook, or respond to this post to register ahead of time. We hope to see you there!!
