This is the listing for the TOURNAMENT - which will start immediately AFTER league play.
Event Date is LABOR DAY, MONDAY SEPTEMBER 4, 2023.
Doors open: 11:00 AM for warmup time.
All Registration starts: 11:30 AM.
League Meeting/Play Starts: NOON
Tournament Meeting/Play Starts: IMMEDIATELY AFTER League Play (Approximately 2:00 PM)
Kevin & Jenny were close friends of Barry Oursler for many years, since long before Barry moved to Texas.
They were even at Barry's wedding (which was small and limited to only their closest friends).
Thus, in conjunction with our official host, PINBALL-ERS, they have generously offered to open their home in Princeton, Texas for the DFW Pinball League to host Labor Day event in Barry's honor.
*** The tournament will have A, B, and C Divisions with 3 trophies given away in each division! See details later in this post ***
URGENT NOTE:
We will be catering--
BBQ pork stuffed potatoes. Build your own stuffed potato. Side are Shredded Cheese,Sour Cream, Pickled Jalapenos, Green Onions, Butter, Quesos, Bacon, Olives, Salsas, and Pico.
CATERING PRICE IS $10 - SEPARATE FROM TOURNAMENT PRICE.
We will need to know who all wants a plate before August 15th, so I can contact the caterer.
IF WE DON'T GET ENOUGH TAKERS ON THE FOOD, WE WILL CANCEL THE CATERER SO PLEASE CONTACT LOUIS MARX OR KEVIN MOORE if you want to pay $10 for catering.
Parking is an issue! PLEASE SEE PARKING RULES later in this post and carpool if you can!
Last year we had around 50 players plus a newspaper reporter and photographer at this event!
This Labor Day Event will also be the EVENT 2 for the DFW Pinball League's Fall 2023 League!

We TRULY want this to be about community! All skill levels welcome!! It's about having fun, eating, socializing, and playing pinball!! We had players as young as 3 years old & as old as 81 in our leagues. All we ask is that you respect each other, the host's home, and the machines! So, come Join us!
MULTIPLE WAYS TO PLAY:
WAYS TO PLAY 1:
----- DFW 2023 PINBALL LEAGUE FALL EVENT 2 (way to play 1) - Players will play 4 games in a group of 4 people.
Its that simple! This was already covered on the IFPA League Calendar and on our league website.
Each league qualifier will be structured the same.
WAY TO PLAY 2:
----- THE IFPA TOURNAMENT (THIS EVENT) -
This starts immediately AFTER the league play, approximately 2:00 PM!
Your entry fee covers BOTH league and tournament play, so you are welcome to play in both if you like!
Qualifying is "group matchplay style". This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.
Playoffs/Finals will LIKELY be Group Elimination/PAPA Style, which is similar to the above, but with lower performing players being eliminated as we go forward (until there's a winner).
THERE WILL BE PLAYOFFS FOR: A, B AND C DIVISIONS, WITH TROPHIES FOR ALL 3 DIVISIONS - SO ALL SKILL LEVELS CAN PLAY AND WIN!
We have PRIZES for the B & C Division players and ...
... ALSO random door prizes for ANYONE in the tournament regardless of standings/rankings!
The B Division is restricted based on rules published on the league website -- many of the top players are excluded from the B Division so that ANYONE CAN WIN!
For the tournament, Late entrants will be allowed until sometime AROUND 4 PM (halfway through qualifying).
WAY TO PLAY 3:
Based on the standings after round 3 from the tournament's qualifying (from way to play 2), we also hold a:
----- "KIDZ FINAL"
This is ONE GAME played by kids aged 16 and under for a TOY BLASTER that has been provided by Jared Guynes' www.blasterbattle.com !!!
To insure that its fair and everyone can win, a child is EXCLUDED from the KIDZ FINAL for next TWO events after they WIN, thus giving other kids a chance to win too.
The KIDZ Final is unsanctioned/exclusive from the tournament playoffs.
That means kids can play in BOTH if they want!
PARKING:
San Remo, the road that leads to ours is under construction. NO THROUGH TRAFFIC.
A traffic map showing the detour will be posted sometime before the event date in the FACEBOOK event page (discussion post).
Parking is as always limited. Parking is the norm for my place.
The neighbor to my East does not want people parking in front of their house as in the past people have pulled off the road and parked partially on the lawn and have caused damage.
DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE IMMEDIATELY TO THE EAST PLEASE.
The more people that can car pool the better.
If there is no Rain, Parking in my lawn will be permitted.
FOOD:
As always Alcohol is permitted BYOB.
Drugs are not allowed, violators will be asked to leave.
We will be catering--
