Tournament Overview
Start Date: September 12, 2023
End Date: April 20, 2024
Our first week will be Tuesday, Sept. 12. We will play at Triptych in Savoy for our first week. If you have not checked it out, they have 5 fairly new Stern games. League play starts at 6:30pm.
Please confirm that you plan to play again this season, so I can have approximate groups ready for that first day.
1. We will play 14 weeks (approximately every-other week) from September to April. We will play on both home collections and locations. I hope we can add more locations than Triptych. Russ, John, and I will host regularly, and I suspect Troy will host occasionally. Anyone with at least 5 fully-functional games is welcome to host.
2. We will drop everyone's lowest 4 weeks, but all playing must be done with league groups. No pre- or post-playing.
3. The regular season results will be used to seed a final, head-to-head tournament that will determine the league winners. That tournament will have at least 2 divisions. Divisions will be determined by performance in the regular season.
4. We will play 5 games each week with assigned groups. For the first half of the season, the groups will be randomized. For the second half of the season, the groups will be based on the standings. Points per game in each group will be 7-5-3-1 or 7-4-1.
5. You must play at least 8 weeks to qualify for the tournament.
6. League entry fee is $40 per person. This covers your entrance to the tournament at the end of the season. All the funds for the season will be spent on the final tournament.
7. Additionally, when we play on location, you will be expected to pay for the games you play. When we play on home collections, the hosts usually put out a "tip jar". Please consider how much you would normally spend playing games for a night of pinball when adding to the tip jars. All of our home collection games are on free play, but there is maintenance and wear and tear on the games when we host the league.
