Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: January 28, 2024
First time running this format! Players will be put in 3 or 4-player groups on a random pinball machine. Whoever wins the game will receive 7 points, 2nd place will get 5 points, 3rd place will get 3 points, and 4th place will get 1 point. Rounds will continue to be generated until 8 players have reached the 25 point "target" threshold to make it to the final round. Top 8 (if this is less than half of the total) will compete in two three game MatchPlay rounds to determine the winner.
Entry fee is $9 + $1 IFPA FEE plus coin-drop.
Tournament details:
- Registration and warm up 12-1pm sharp.
- Tournament: 1pm.
- We are running a MatchPlay tournament using MatchPlay events.
- There will probably be 12 machines in use.
- Machines used TBD tournament day.
- Players will be grouped in groups of threes or fours. There will be a qualifier of as many rounds as it takes for 8 players to earn 25 points.
- In each round each group will play a single game on a randomly selected machine.
- Groupings will be Swiss.
- At the close of the qualifying rounds, the 8 player who have earned 20 points first will advance to finals
- Finals are group single elimination
- Trophies for 1st, & 2nd,+ Cash for 1st and 2nd, and Gift Cards for 3rd and 4th (with consolations)
- Highscore prizes in the qualifying rounds
