Tournament Overview
Registration for this tournament opens on March 02, 2024
Start Date: April 27, 2024
End Date: April 28, 2024
The Maple Pinball Spring Spectacular is coming April 26-28/24! 4 events over one weekend, 2 of them IFPA Certified! Maple Pinball in Mississauga is home to 65 new and classic machines.
TICKETS GO ON SALE: SATURDAY, MARCH 2 AT NOON ET via a google form posted on the Facebook page Saturday at noon and to those who email interest in this event (see email at bottom). Capped at 72 players.
This is a weekend package only. You are signing up for the first 3 events. The 4th is optional. Doors open at 5:30pm on Friday.
One lucky person will win a ticket to this year's sold out Pinburgh, July 25-27 just outside Pittsburgh, PA. This is the return of one of IFPA's Major events, and the first time since 2019.
How do you win??? A random draw! Anyone can win!
- Each person who plays in the weekend event will receive one ballot. You must play at least half of each of the first 3 events to receive ANY ballots.
- For those that make the Match Play playoffs (event #3), they will receive an extra ballot for each round they advance (max 4).
- On Friday night until 8pm (this one-time only), weekend players may purchase 1 extra ballot for $10 or 3 ballots for $20. This means everyone will have at least one ballot, and the maximum someone can have is 8.
- Draw to be made before the Main event finals begin Sunday afternoon (approx. 3pm) visible to all on PickerWheel website.
- Prize is non-transferable. Winner must be playing in the tourneys. If the winner cannot attend Pinburgh (why are you in this weekend tourney?) or already has a Pinburgh ticket, they will receive $350 USD in lieu of this prize (the Pinburgh ticket will be turned over to Pinburgh for their waitlist). The winner has 7 days to decide if they will accept or receive the cash prize instead.
Tourneys include:
1. Main event (Certified 220% WPPR). Pump & dump (herb score) – all weekend Fri-Sun. Best 9 games in a bank of 12. Times available to play, Friday 5:30pm-midnight. Saturday 9am-midnight. Sunday morning 9:30am-3pm. Entries are 5 for $10, 12 for $20. Unused entries are non-refundable.
Playoffs Sunday afternoon at 3pm. A Division (top 24) & B Division (top 4) get payouts. The B division is open to anyone not ranked in top 750 as of Fri., April 26.
2. Classics event. Friday night qualify starts at 6:30pm. Max Match Play until 11:30pm. Playoffs Saturday morning at 9am for top 24. Estimate 160% WPPR.
3. Match Play event (Certified 250% WPPR). Saturday qualifying starts at 1pm. Group match-play using all eras. 20 games for qualifying. Tiered Swiss. Sunday playoffs. A (top 24) & B (top 4) Divisions for payouts.
Playoffs for these first 3 tourneys are:
- significant ties for byes or last playoff spot will be played between tied players on random SS game.
- group match play (3 games, 4-2-1-0 scoring).
- High seed player picks from banks available (or order of 1st game), cannot pick the same bank 2x in a row.
- Loser of game gets order choice for next game.
- Top 2 advance to next round.
4. 3 Strikes event. Sunday at 3pm. Note: if a player(s) in the Main event playoffs insist on playing, they will not be allowed to play and this will then become a cash only/non-IFPA, so we will be sure to shame them for their greed, and mock this new IFPA rule. This is an additional $15 fee for those interested (to be paid at event by April 27).
Cost: $125 (CDN) for the entire weekend Fri-Sun (Main, Classics, Match Play). 3 Strikes is an additional $15 for those interested. Tickets go on sale on Sat., March 2/24 at noon ET (link will be posted on Facebook and emailed to those that send interest). Those who purchase within 48 hours will receive 9 free entries for the Main event (pump & dump). See Facebook page/event for details or email ontarioopenpinball @ gmail.com to get on the reminder list and to receive full details.
Once payment is received, you will receive a confirmation. Refunds requested will receive 100% refund until March 15.
75% between March 16-31.
50% between April 1-16.
No refund after Apr. 16th, unless you're on waitlist (see below).
**If you are put on the waitlist, you can receive 100% refund immediately and remain on waitlist in the order in which you registered & paid. If you are on the waitlist and do not get in the event (because it is sold out), you will receive 100% refund no matter the date.
