The Ridiculously Self-Indulgent ill-advised Vanity Tournament!
An IFPA sanctioned pinball tournament. Apparently they let just anyone register sanctioned pinball tournaments these days. Come score yourself some wppr points and cash on a Saturday! Or just drink and socialize while playing 12 games of pinball!
Limited to 24 players. Prior registration is required, send an email to DepartmentofPinball@gmail.com to register once registration opens.
Registration for Saturday March 23rd opens on Monday March 11th at 9am.
Registration for Saturday April 20th opens on Monday April 8th at 9am.
Registration for Saturday May 18th opens on Monday May 6th at 9am.
Entry fee of $20 will be paid by Paypal when you register. When you register, you will receive an email confirming your registration and asking for payment. Your spot is NOT locked in until you pay the entry fee. There are no refunds once you have paid.
Entry fee is $20, broken down as:
$19 Prize Fund
$1 IFPA / MD State Champion prize fund
Free parking at the event. The address and a map of parking will be sent out before the event.
Doors open at 11am, tournament begins promptly at 12:00 noon.
No practice or casual games allowed during the qualifying portion of the tournament until your two games are completed for the round.
Qualifying: 6 double rounds, or 12 games played in 4 player groups.
Number of players to playoffs: If we get 24 players, we will take the top 12 players to the playoffs and the top 4 will get a bye for the semi-final round. If less than 24 players, we will take the top 8 players to the playoffs.
Finals format: PAPA style finals, 4 player groups, top seed picks games or order from predefined groups of machines.
If we have 12 players in the playoffs, we will play 3 games per playoff round.
If we have 8 players in the playoffs, we will play 4 games per playoff round.
This will score us a TGP of 160%, or 172% if we have all 24 players!
