MMP: Everyone is guaranteed to play the same minimum # of head-to-head games, depending on the # of players attending.
- Targeting 3 hours of qualifying.
- Standings based on # of wins.
- Mid-way through the tourney, if we are not going at a pace to complete the # of games selected at the beginning or if we are ahead of pace to fit in more games, then TD's will reduce or increase, respectively, the # of games to be played, always keeping an even-numbered total # of games.
- New games will be generated when there are 2 pins available, initially, and then possibly waiting longer in later rounds, to make sure that all players can complete an equal # of games.
GMP: 4-player, and some 3-player games, as needed. No new rounds started after 3 hours. 7-5-3-1 and 7-4-1 scoring.
A & B Division 4-player finals using 4-pin multi-play format. PAPA scoring in finals (4-2-1-0) -- yes, only 4 players in each.
- Each finals group will play three adjacent pins (skipping any pins not included in tourney Arenas, and wrapping around)
- A division chooses first, then B division, and last Novice division.
- Top seed gets choice of picking ONE of the pins for finals, or choice of playing position. Next-best seed gets choice of picking one of the two pins on either side of prior pin selected, or choice of playing position. Third-best seed gets choice of picking one of the two pins on either side of the two prior pins selected, or choice of playing position. Fourth-best seed gets remaining choice.
- B division first pin chosen must be at least 3 pins "away" from the bank of pins for A division.
- Tiebreakers to qualify for finals settled by Matchplay software automatic tiebreaker.
- Tiebreakers for 1st in finals settled by 2-minute drill, better seed gets choice of different pin than finals, or position.
- No tiebreakers for 2nd+ place.
- B Div. requires 8+ players participating in total, and restricted to players ranked outside the Top 1,000 IFPA World Ranking and players who have not won B Division finals the last two times they've played in EF tourneys.
Novice Division finals on only one game. Top seed gets choice of available pin or playing order. Prize money gets paid to winner, depending on total # of players.
- Novice Div. requires 12+ players participating, in total, and restricted to players ranked outside the Top 5,000 IFPA World Ranking and players who have not won Novice finals 2+ times in the past year.
Any extra balls must be plunged and not played (though EB's should be turned off). No player disqualifications involving playing an EB out of turn.
There will be a Runaway Score rule, where at the discretion of a TD not involved in the match, the TD may have a player forego playing ball(s) if their score is far beyond the score of other players and beyond a reasonable score for 3-ball play. The TD may adjust the game to 4- or 5-ball play to allow the Runaway Score player to complete their game if one of the other players catch the Runaway Score.
