This is part of THE BEAST weekend, Aug. 1-4, 2024. There are 4 pinball tournaments: Thursday warm-up (optional), Women’s, Classics, and Main, with big cash, prizes, and trophies.
Weekend passes for THE BEAST are $90 and go on sale on Saturday, April 6 at 10am ET online at www.pinballprofile.com/thebeast. Limited to the first 140 players. Confirmation and payment option will be sent once registration form is completed. A wait list will be taken for those not in the first 140 registered. Payment (via Venmo or PayPal) will be required by Friday, April 12 at 6pm ET for those registered online, otherwise your reservation for THE BEAST will be removed. Those who pay before Friday, April 12th at 6pm ET will receive an early bird bonus of 7 free game entries (a $20 value)! This registration fee covers usage of pinball machines (turned to free play), IFPA fees, trophies, signage, swag, and other tournament expenses. Entries for Main, Classics and Women's are $10 for 3 entries, $20 for 7, or $50 for 20.
NEW: Those interested in participating in the Women's Only event, can sign up for $30 (plus your entries). This will be collected at THE BEAST.
THE BEAST Women’s Tournament presented in part by 4evertheflip features 10 pinball machines. Qualifying happens Thursday from 9pm-midnight, and all day Friday until midnight. Your top scores on 5 different machines determine your ranking. At the end of qualifying Friday night at midnight, (*up to) the top 12 players will play in the Finals to be held Saturday morning, August 5 at 10:30am. Check in at 10am. (*based on 24 or more players in the Women's Tournament as per IFPA). Cash prizes for each playoff player, and trophies for top 4. See PLAYOFFS below for details.
PLAYOFFS:
After qualifying is done, players tied with the same number of points will have their best game(s) as tie breaker(s) for seeding ONLY. If two or more players are tied for a significant playoff spot (i.e. byes, or final playoff spot), they will play a one-game playoff (random game & order) to determine seeding. This will take place immediately when qualifying for that event ends. So if the tied player isn't there, they will not participate in that significant playoff spot.
Playoff players will be seeded and placed in groups of 4. Top seed after qualifying will have choice of "bank" or order on the first game. These banks are pre-selected by the TD (before the tourney started), and will be able to see at the start of playoffs (we need to see how games are functioning throughout the tournament). There are 3 banks (of 3 games) in Women's. Once that bank is selected, the other groups cannot select it in that round. No player can select the same bank two rounds in a row.
Players will play 3 games per round with 4-2-1-0 scoring, with the top 2 players advancing to the next round. If there's a tie after 3 games to advance or any spot 1st-4th place overall, top seed will have choice of order on tie-breaker machine. Each bank has a designated tie-breaker machine shown to the players upon selecting the bank.
