Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: July 13, 2024
Tournament Date: July 13th, 2024
Qualifying Rounds:
Qualifying will consist of 6 rounds, with each round featuring 2 games, resulting in a total of 12 games. Players will compete in groups of 4-player matchplay. In the event of ties after qualification, a single-game playoff will be conducted on a randomly selected machine.
Semi-Finals:
Two semi-finals will be held, each consisting of one round with two matches. The top 2 players from each semi-final will advance to the final. In the event of a tie, a sudden-death match will be played on a randomly selected machine. Semi-final 1 will feature players from qualifying positions 1, 2, 7, and 8, while semi-final 2 will include players from positions 3, 4, 5, and 6.
Machine Selection/Banning in Semi-Finals and Finals:
During the semi-finals and finals, the top 2 players from the qualification rounds will have the privilege of either choosing or banning a machine. Once a machine is selected by a player, it cannot be chosen again for the rest of the competition. If a player decides to ban a machine, it will be removed from the pool for the rest of the finals. In the case of a ban, the next highest seed in the group will choose the machine instead.
Finals:
The final will consist of one round with two games. The top 4 players from the semi-finals will compete. The player with the highest overall score across the two games will be declared the winner. If there is a tie for any of the positions, a sudden-death match will be played on a randomly selected machine. The finals will also follow the machine selection/banning rules from the semi-finals, with the highest-seeded players from the semi-finals getting the first opportunity to choose or ban a machine.
