Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: August 24, 2024
This is a free tournament included in the 2DCon convention pass. IFPA fees covered by 2DCon. Purchase passes at https://www.2dcon.net/register/
Tentative machine list can be found at https://www.2dcon.net/what-to-do/arcade/
Qualifying and finals format, player count, and other details subject to change based on machine availability and amount. Machines will likely be available to other convention attendees, with the new location I don't yet know if I can section off some games for tournament play.
Qualifying: Four player group matchplay. Five single game rounds, 4/2/1/0 scoring, tiered swiss grouping. Taking no more than top half to finals. Games picked randomly, depending on game variety I may be able to separate modern and classic games to alternate between the two each round.
Finals: Amazing Race. Players play single player games with one attempt to beat the lowest set score. Highest seed can pick either the game or the direction the group moves, 2nd highest seed picks the remaining choice.
Prizes so far provided by Stern Pinball and Spooky Pinball, including a Foo Fighters banner, and two translites, likely more to come!
I will be running an optional side pot for players who wish to play for a cash prize. $5 to enter, paying the top four or top 25% of finishers who paid in, whichever is less.
