WELCOME TO THE CARPOOL!
Join us for our December Midnight Madness tournament and New Year’s Party at the Carpool Proving Grounds. Most of our games are EMs and classic solid state games. Modern Sterns will be held in reserve if other games go down.
The goal is to end the year with our first certified tournament. This requires a minimum of 48 players, and finals must start on a separate day. If we don’t have the minimum number of players, the format will be changed slightly. See format sections below.
All games are set to free play. They will be set HARD. Game specific notes will be displayed on the back glass as required.
This is also a New Year’s party with other activities, so feel free to bring guests who are not playing in the tournament!
RSVP:
The tournament is limited to 52 players. RSVP is required and opens on 12/13/2024 @ 7:00 PM

$20 tournament entry fee. We will have food and drinks provided at the event.

Doors open @ 5:30PM on 12/31/2024
First round starts @ 6:00PM on 12/31/2024
Planned Finals Start @ 12:01AM on 01/01/2025
Tournament Format If Attendance is 48 or more:
Qualifying - 5 rounds of group matchplay. 4 games per round. 7-5-3-1 scoring
Finals – Top 24 will make finals. Matchplay finals with 3 games per round. 4-2-1-0 scoring
Note: Finals will NOT start before midnight (must start on a separate day for a certified tournament)
Tournament Format If Attendance is less than 48:
Qualifying - 5 rounds of group matchplay. 3 games per round. 7-5-3-1 scoring
Finals – Top 12 will make finals. Matchplay finals with 4 games per round. 4-2-1-0 scoring
Note: Finals can start immediately since attendance was not enough for a certified tournament.
