Tournament Date: April 04, 2015
Paid entry to 8BitFlip is needed to enter the tournament.
1. The competition will consist of a series of rounds, in each of which players will play head to head on a number of machines drawn at random from all the machines at the show.
2. If all players agree, they may request one substitute machine in each round (to avoid playing a malfunctioning or badly set up game)
3. Maximum competition entries will be limited to 64
4. Prizes will be awarded for the top 4 places based on a proportion of the total entry fees
5. Competition players will be required to wait in line to play their competition machines; any players observed flouting this rule will be disqualified from the remainder of the competition.
Round 1 (seeding) - Players divided into pairs: 64 players, 32 machines, Best of 5,
Round 2 - Players divided into two groups – “round 1 winners” and “round 1 losers”. Within each group, players divided into fours. Round 1 winners: the top placed player in each four in this round gets a bye to round 4. The bottom placed players drop out The other players progress to round 3. Round 1 losers:The top 2 placed players in each four progress to round 3. The bottom 2 placed players drop out. (5 games)
Round 3 - Remaining players (who will have won one round and lost one round) divided into fours; lowest 3 places drop out. (5 games)
Round 4 - Winners from round 3 and the byes from round 2 are divided into pairs. Losers drop out. (Best of 5 games)
Round 5 - Winners from round 4 are divided into pairs. Losers drop out. (Best of 5 games)
Round 6 - Final - Players play finals as a foursome. Each player chooses one game and one is drawn at random. (5 games)
Total, up to 25 meaningful games played. 64 players. 100% TGP.
