WHAT
40 person Max Matchplay event with playoffs.
Over 100% payout on entry fees.
SCHEDULE:
12:30 PM - 5:30 PM: Qualifying
5:30 PM: Finals
QUALIFYING
Players will play 12 1v1 matches against a variety of opponents on games selected by the matchplay software.
After all players have played 12 matches, the top 12 players in wins will proceed at the ‘Pro’ playoffs, and the next 8 players whose IFPA ranks are above 1300 will be eligible for ‘Amateur’ playoffs.
Any significant ties in qualifying will be decided by a 1 game playoff on a randomly chosen game.
PLAYOFFS
The top 4 players in Pro qualifying will receive a bye.
Players will be placed into 4 player groups and play between 4 and 7 games. The top seeded player each group will pick 7 games to play at the start of the round. At least 3 of the selections must be classic (Pre-DMD) games.
The game played will be determined at random from the list provided by the top seed.
The winner of each game will receive a point. Once a player has received 2 points they advance.
Two players will advance from each group until the finals.
Once a game is played in the playoffs, it will not be available for selection in future rounds for that division.
