Tournament Overview
Registration for this tournament opens on April 30, 2025
Tournament Date: June 01, 2025
“The Plaisance of the Iron Burgh”
Join us for a three part tournament at the Pinball Palace in Brunswick GA! We will be holding a raffle that includes the tournament players (The Mercenaries) to win a ticket to Pinburgh! Additional entries can be won by your performance during the tournament at specific thresholds.
The format of this tournament will be target match play, broken up into 3 distinct phases. At the outset of this tournament, each mercenary will be assigned one raffle entry.
Phase 1 will be played on bank A, defending the main Palace. Phase 1 will have a target score of 15, and the first mercenary to reach that score will be declared the victor of the Battle at the Palace and get 2 additional raffle entries.
Then the mercenaries will travel to “The Keep” for Phase 2. Phase 2 will be played on bank B and will continue the target match play points from before, the first mercenary to reach the total target of 30 points will be declared the victor of the battle and will earn an additional 2 raffle entries.
At this point the top 16/24 will be anointed as the Kings Guard, and will have a final battle to determine the ultimate victor. The Kings Guard will travel back to the Palace (Bank A) for the final games of skill. They will be scored in 4-2-1-0 matchplay matches, the top 2 victors moving on to the next set of 3 games. The lower 2 will be dismissed from the Kings Guard. Within each group of 4, the top seed will have choice of game or position, and will choose all 3 games at once. At no time can a finalist choose a game he has chosen previously. Positions will also be the same for each of the 3 games.
When the Kings Guard has been reduced to 8, they will each be granted one more entry, and the raffle will begin.
Then the remaining Kings Guard will continue the semifinals to determine the final 4, with the same match structure as before.
The final 4 will play the last 3 games, their point position determining the final placement for first through 4th place. Tiebreakers will only be performed for ties to get into the Kings Guard, or to advance to the next finals set, or for the top 4 places.
The top Guard will be declared Hand of the King until the next Plaisance of the Iron Burgh!
Player cap will be 68 players, entry fee is $40, if we get more than 48 players we will expand the Royal Guard to 24. You can register at the matchplay link.
