Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: June 13, 2015
Match Play Tourney Rules (4pm, Finals at 6pm)
Initial groupings and Seeding Round:
Initial groups are done randomly in groups of 3 or 4 for the seeding round.
4 player groups play 4 games, scored 3,2,1,0 per game, max of 12 points can be earned in one round.
3 player groups play 6 games, scored 2,1,0 per game, max of 12 points can be earned in one round. (in this instance, the last two games will be the following two games on the list after that groups 4th game)
The choice of order starts with the highest numbered (Seeded) player, starting at 1. For round one, this is based on the random number drawn. In subsequent rounds, it is based on rank. The order for the remainder of the games in that group are chosen by the lowest seeded players. (the 4th ranked player from game 1 has choice of order in game 2, and so on).
Exact scores will have a 1 ball playoff to determine a winner on the same game.
At the conclusion of the seeding round, you will be seeded in either A division or B division, based on wins.
Games will be randomly chosen, two from each style (EM/SS and DMD era), to create 4 banks of games for choice. Games will be played based on order of random pick and done before the start of that group, order as follows: 1. DMD, 2. EM/SS, 3. DMD, 4. EM/SS. 3 Banks of games will be chosen and will be available for the final groups top seed to select.
Finals Rounds:
16 Players Make A and 16 players make B (kept even if the total number of participants is less than 32, e.g. 10 A and 10 B if there are 20 players)
The finals round will match players based on how well they did in the seeding round. If there is a tie in the seeding record, there will be a 1 ball playoff on a randomly picked machine to determine the higher seed.
Tiebreakers between A and B division will play a 1 game, 3 ball outcome based on a random machine.
Finals rounds will be played on 4 games with Pinburgh scoring (3-2-1-0).
Seeding and games are based on the session play format, and top seed gets first choice of order on the first game. After the first game the lowest score gets choice of order on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th games, followed by 3rd, 2nd and 1st place scorers.
If there is a tie at the conclusion of the 4 game final, the tiebreaker will be 1 full game on a randomly chosen machine and the person with the originally higher seed will get choice of position.
Top 2 scores from each group move on to the next round until the final 4. In the final, scoring determines 1st through 4th place. If there is a tie, there will be 1 full game played on a randomly chosen machine to determine the tie breaker.
Seeding in the finals rounds is as follows - Round 1 - Group 1 (1,8,9,16), Group 2 (2,7,10,15), Group 3 (3,6,11,14), Group 4 (4,5,12,13)
Round 2 - Group 1 (Top Seed, Middle Seed, Middle Seed, Last Seed), Group 2 (Next Top Seed Middle-Outer Seed, Middle-Outer Seed, Next to Last Seed)
Final Round - Group 1 (Top Seed, Next Seed, Next Seed, Last Seed)
WPPR rankings will be the top 4 scores from the finals, followed by the scores done in qualifying (5th to infinity) for A division, and then followed in the same format in B division. (e.g. if there are 24 players, there will be 1-12 in A, then 13-24 in B).
Prizes awarded are – 100% for the top 4 in finals (1st, 50%, 2nd 25%, 3rd 15%, 4th 10%)
