Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: July 05, 2025
“And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: 'We will not go quietly into the night!' We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Pin-dependence Day!"
Come celebrate the holiday weekend at our July monthly tournament! Check in begins at 4:30PM and play begins promptly at 5:00PM. Entry is $10 plus coin drop. Event will feature door prizes, cash for top finishers, and snacks. BYOB. Also, AMERICA!
QUALIFYING: The format is timed Matchplay followed by an Amazing Race finals. We will play for 3.5 hours and get in as many rounds as we can. Players will be placed in groups of four and play on one randomly chosen machine. Players will earn points based on how many opponents they beat in the round (7, 5, 3 or 1). Points will accumulate across the rounds to determine each players overall qualifying score. The number of players attending will determine the number advancing to finals.
TIEBREAKERS: Ties will only be broken when a player's participation in the finals is impacted. The tie will be settled by a one game tiebreaker, with the game randomly selected. Inconsequential ties will not be broken
FINALS SEEDING: Seeding will be determined based on player's qualifying results, with the highest seed being awarded to the player reaching the target first, then the second seed to the player who next reached the target, and so forth. Any other ties will be addressed by the TD directly.
AMAZING RACE: We will be utilizing Matchplay software for the Amazing Race. Games will be played on a bank of games in a predetermined order. The player with the lowest seed will play first. All players will play single player games on the same machines and the player with the lowest score for each machine is knocked out of the tournament. Once a player exceeds the lowest score for a machine, the player will immediately stop playing and plunge any remaining balls. That player should then advance to the end of the queue of the next machine in the sequence. If a player earns a new low score for a machine, then the previous holder of the low score advances to the queue of the next machine. Multiple machines will be played simultaneously to the extent possible. The last player standing wins!
