QUALIFIERS:
Qualifiers will be played as head-to-head matches. Each player will pay a total of five head-to-head matches (subject to change based on tournament turnout, i.e. total number of registered players) against different opponents, as "Best 2/3" sets on randomly selected machines. Players will score one point for each win on a game. After all qualifying games have been played, players will then be ranked based on total qualifying points (similar to a round-robin format).
**Tiebreakers for finals placement will be determined as follows:
1) If two people are in a tie who played a set against each other in qualifiers, the winner of the set will be placed higher.
2) If two people are in a tie who did not play a set against each other in qualifiers, they will play a head-to-head match on a single game (chosen randomly by the tournament organizer) to determine placement.
3) If more than two people are in a tie for the same position, and the first two rules cause a loophole between the three players (Player 1 should be ranked higher than Player 2, Player 2 should be ranked higher than Player 3, but Player 3 should be ranked higher than Player 1), all affected players will play a head-to-head match on a single game (chosen randomly by the tournament organizer) to determine placement.
FINALS:
Finals will include all players (subject to cutoff based on high tournament turnout) and will start with the lowest-ranked players battling in 4-player, "Best 2/3" sets, with a 4-2-1-0 scoring system based on each machine placement. The highest-ranked player will choose either the machine (from the bank of available tournament games, subject to change between Qualifiers and Finals) or their own play order, followed by the second-highest-ranked, etc. until machine and all placements have been chosen. The two players with the most points after each 2/3 set will advance to play against the next two highest-ranked players until the final four play in a 4-player 2/3 set for 1st-4th place.
