Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: January 01, 2019
Tournament Format: Flipper Frenzy!
- Head-to-head play on a bank of machines. Approximately 1/4 of the players will be in the queue area.
- All tournament games will be on free play, total entry fee will be $15 which includes a $9 facility fee (see below for full breakdown)
Note: There will be other games at the facility those games will be on coin drop.
- 40 players max
- With a full field of 40 players, 10 players will be waiting in a queue and 30 will be playing in 15 heads-up matches on 15 machines.

- At the end of each game, the winner gets one point. The loser will get -1 point and will stay at the game unless they've played on that machine twice in a row, in which case both players leave the machine. The player staying on the game plays as Player 1 in the upcoming game. The loser of the game records the result on the machine sheet the winner of the game records the result to the software and goes to the back of the queue. In the event that both players are leaving the machine the winner of the game will go in front of the loser in the queue. The first player from the queue reports to the machine and plays as Player 2 against the player that remains. In the event that there are no players left on the machine the player at the front of the queue shall be player 1 and the player second in queue will be player 2.
- 3 hours of qualifying divided into two 1.5-hour sessions. At the end of each qualifying time period, no more games may start. Finalists are determined via highest number of total points(wins-loses) all other ties will be broken as follows
1. Fewest Games Played
2. (If 2 players are left after the 1st tiebreaker) Head to Head record
3. Total Points after round 1
4. (If 2 players are left after the 3rd tiebreaker) Head to Head record
Single game tiebreaker
-All rulings will be made using IFPA rules
-Where possible Extra balls will be turned off in the event that a player gets an extra ball they are allowed to play it
- Players may not concede the game prior to the start of ball 3
- In the event that a registered player is late a the start of a round they will move to the end of the queue when they arrive, no makeup games or other allowances will be made.
- Playoffs will take place following the conclusion of the second 1.5-hour session, with the top ? of players (up to 12) making A finals.
- Tiebreakers will be played as needed to break ties to determine the cut line for the playoffs, They will be on a randomly assigned machine and feature all players involved in the tiebreak. Choice of order will be determined using the above tiebreakers. In the event that there are multiple players tied after the 4th tiebreaker, ties will be broken through random selection.
- Playoff format: Heads up (1 on 1), best of 3, top seed picks game or order for game 1, then loser picks game or order. All tournament games will be eligible for finals. A game may not be picked twice by the same player during finals. Groups will not be allowed to wait for games.
B finals (if there are least 24 players)
The top 4 of the bottom 20% of IFPA ranked players not making A finals will play in a heads up best of 3 final
In the event that there are between 10-23 players the highest ranking B eligible player not making A finals will receive a prize
