Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: February 22, 2025
How to Qualify:
There will be 3 ways to qualify for the 2024/25 IFPA Women's ACS.
1) Australian Open - Women's Tournament winner
The winner of the 2024 Australian Open Women's Tournament at Tweed Heads in November will earn the right to contest the Women's ACS Finals.
In the event that the winner cannot attend the Women's ACS event, this spot will be offered to the next in line, down to fourth spot (if required).
2) State Qualifiers
The Top ranked player based on the best 15 results from within each IFPA Registered State/Territory will automatically qualify for the field of 16.
This includes the following:
A.C.T., N.S.W., Qld, S.A., Tas, Vic and W.A.
As per the Australian Open tournament result above, this spot for each state will be offered down to fourth in line (if required).
Should the Australian Open or State Qualifier spots not be filled, they will be returned to the At-Large pool
3) Highest Rankings for 2024
The minimum 8 remaining spots will then be filled from the At-Large pool, which will be based on the next 8 players on most ranking points earned from their best 15 results in 2024.
Spots will be offered to each player next in line, until the field of 16 players is filled.
PLEASE NOTE that rankings points will include both OPEN and WOMEN'S only events throughout the 2024 calendar year.
Women's ACS Finals Format:
Once all 16 finalists have been confirmed, all players will be seeded according to their ranking points earned from their best 15 events from the 2024 calendar year.
The 16 players will be split into 2 groups of 8 players, and a series of Head-to-Head matches will be played in each group. Each player will play all other opponents within their group twice (14 games each total), with the Top 4 players in each group advancing to a Group Matchplay final.
In the event of a tie for 4th place in either group, a single-game tie-breaker will be contested to break the tie.
Finals:
All 8 players will be re-seeded according to the number of wins earned during qualifying and then split according to IFPA ranking for any ties.
Finals will be contested as a 3-game Group Matchplay, with the Top 2 players in each Semi-Final group advancing to the final 4. A further 3-game match will then be contested to determine the first-ever Women's ACS Champion.
Cost will be $25 per player.
