Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: September 15, 2024
Monthly weekend pinball tournament at My Parents' Basement!
Entry fee: $5 plus dollars for games
Register from 11:30-11:55 am
First round starts at 12:00 pm noon
NEW FORMAT: Pace Match Play
Stay ahead of the pace to avoid being eliminated from the race to the finish line.
If you're at or ahead of the pace at the end of each round then you stay in the tournament for the next round. If you're behind the pace then you get knocked out.
Each round you are awarded points for your score in your 4-player game:
1st: 7 points
2nd: 5 points
3rd: 3 points
4th: 1 point
If you’re in a 3-player group:
1st: 7 points
2nd: 4 points
3rd: 1 point
Balanced pairings (you'll be grouped with a variety of other players)
Round: Pace
R7: 13 points (average 1.9 points per round or better)
R8: 24 points (avg 3+ points)
R9: 37 points (avg 4.2+ points)
R10: 52 points (avg 5.2+ points)
R11: 67 points (avg 6.1+ points)
R12: 84 points (avg 7 points; i.e. 1st place every round)
If there’s a tie for 1st once everyone has fallen behind the pace then the players tied with the same number of 1st place points will play a full tiebreaker game.
Everyone plays at least 6 rounds. Most people will play 9 rounds. So expect the tournament to run from noon to at least 3:30 pm, maybe as late as 5 pm if you’re doing great; or 6:15 pm if you make it all the way to the end.
